November 2015

Our greatest thanks to all of the wonderful people who hosted events and raised money for In the Pink in the month of October.  It was a whirlwind of fun!

  • Thanks to Phil Porter of Subaru of Jacksonville and Jeannie Blaylock of First Coast News for sponsoring the “You are Beautiful” campaign to raise money for wigs.  As of this date, over $40,000 has been raised!
  • Thanks to the Jaguars Women’s Association & the Jaguars Foundation for hosting the “Meet me at the 50” event at Everbank Stadium to raise funds for In the Pink.  Kudos to Michaela Bradley, Nancy Babich and Brittany Henne for spearheading this event!  The event raised $40,000 for In the Pink!
  • Thanks to Kori at Royal Palm Village Wine & Tapas for hosting the fabulous wine tasting event for In the Pink.
  • Thanks to Deborah Bell and the City of Jacksonville for hosting the Pink Pump Parade at Hemming Plaza.  They raised $2500 for In the Pink!

November is bringing a lot of changes to In the Pink!

Sallie Gipson from our Jacksonville Beach location will be leaving us on November 12th to go to work as an Administrative Assistant to the Minister of Outreach & Serve for her church, Palms Presbyterian. She will be missed tremendously around here, but know she is perfect for her new job!  We wish her all the best.  Luckily, she will only be three miles down the road!

All locations of In the Pink will also be closed on Saturday’s beginning November 7th.  This will allow our employees to spend more time with their families, as well as maintain our facilities without interrupting services.  As a medical facility, we have strict standards to live by, so hope everyone will be understanding.

FREE YOGA FOR CANCER PATIENTS CONTINUES ON WEDNESDAY MORNINGS AT 9AM AT THE JACKSONVILLE BEACH LOCATION.  Please RSVP each week to which sessions you will attend as a courtesy to our instructors.  They donate their time.

In the Pink sponsors dragon boat paddling for survivors and their families, as well as non-survivors.  If you are interested in learning to paddle, join the Jacksonville Dragon Boat Club!  We have teams for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.  We also have one team, the Mammoglams, that is made up of all breast cancer survivors!  This is a great way to have fun and exercise with other women who understand your journey. For all people interested in any team, call Marty Millard at 904-536-3475 or for more information, visit  Stop by the new Jacksonville Dragon Boat Training Center at Beach Marine to see the new facility.  It is in the building just east of Nipper’s Grille.  Get bit by the dragon!

In the Pink will close all locations for Thanksgiving on November 26th & 27th to allow our staff to be with their families.  Happy Thanksgiving to all!
