February 2014

Can it really be February already?  What happened to January?  Seems like it flew by!

In the Pink has big news to share!  We are opening our third location…this time in Sarasota, Florida!  Hopefully, we will be ready to open in April, so stay tuned!

FREE YOGA will continue on Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm and Saturday mornings at 10am at our beach location.  Please RSVP each week as a courtesy to our instructors.  Some of them live far from In the Pink and call in before driving in for their class.  Remember, these classes are FREE to all CANCER patients.  Our yoga is very gentle and can even be provided from the sofa or chair within the yoga room.  Experience is not necessary.  Learning to stretch and breathe are our goals, so that cancer patients can help ease some of their pain or emotional challenges during treatment.  For more information, contact Sallie at sallie@jaxinthepink.net or call 372-0029.

DRAGON BOATING will also continue throughout 2014.  We have teams for everyone ages 14+.  All teams practice together except when we are preparing for a festival.  Practice takes place at 5:45 pm on Monday and Wednesday and 9am on Saturday mornings.  We meet at Beach Marine, directly behind Billy’s Boathouse Grille.  Our breast cancer team is called the Mammoglams.  The other teams are the Saltwater Slayers.  Our teams are also hosting the second annual Jacksonville Dragon Boat Festival at the Jacksonville Landing on September 27, 2014!  Join us and give paddling a try.  We are always glad to see new faces and watch the excitement when people get bit by the dragon!  For more information, contact Marty Millard (one of our coaches) at millardm@comcast.net.  For information on the festival, visit www.jacksonvilledragonboatfestival.com.

In the Pink hosted our very first Introductory MELT Yoga class on January 16th.  It was a great success!   Joyce Savitz of Jacksonville Yoga is the most experienced certified MELT method instructor in Jacksonville, Florida.  With the MELT Method, Joyce teaches you how to quiet your nervous system, enhance body awareness, and re-hydrate connective tissue; bringing your body back to a more ideal state.  With continued practice, Joyce and the MELT method can help you transform how your body looks and feels.  You will enjoy a healthier, pain-free and active lifestyle, for the best solution to living a longer, better life.  For more information on the MELT Method, visit www.jacksonvilleyoga.comThe next MELT class should be in April, so keep checking back for the schedule.

In the Pink is a distributor for Protandim.  What is Protandim?  This is a compound of all natural ingredients that is a Nrf2 Synergizer, which strengthens your own body’s defense against the punishing effects of oxidative stress and aging.  As we age, our daily activities take a toll on our body, not just outwardly, but at the cellular level as well.  This is referred to as oxidative stress.  Oxidative stress is the microscopic damage to our cells caused by free radicals that disrupt normal function.  Protandim induces several antioxidant enzymes, including superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase.  Altogether, the antioxidant enzymes activated by taking one Protandim a day reduces oxidative stress by an average of 40% in a 30-day period.  So, what are you waiting for?  Order your bottle of Protandim today!  To order, visit www.mylifevantage.com/inthepink.  (this will be activated soon)  Until then, just call In the Pink at 904-372-0029.   A 30-day supply is $40 if you become a preferred customer.  It can be mailed directly to your home! If you would like to buy a 30-day supply to try, drop by In the Pink.  The bottle retails for $50.
